Trash to Treasure

Your trash can become treasures!

Aluminum beverage tabs are collected for the benefit of our local Ronald McDonald House, which recycles the tabs at a special rate to help cover the house's operating costs. Located near Memorial Hospital, the Ronald McDonald House provides inexpensive housing for out-of-town families with hospitalized children. Families may stay at the house for a small fee and self-help with meals. Your tabs may be left in the marked envelope on the Mission bulletin board in the hallway between the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall.

Aluminum recycling takes place every second Sunday unless notified otherwise in advance. The aluminum should be brought on that morning only, and should be left on the linoleum behind the glass doors of the office area entrance. Please rinse your cans to avoid insects and a clean-up problem on the church floor. Proceeds from the aluminum go to the church library fund.

The Garage Sale is a fundraiser held every year in Fellowship Hall on the first Saturday of February. Funds generated by this activity have been used in a variety of ways, such as church landscaping, new choir robes, and so forth. We ask everyone to save usable clothing, linens, furniture (no appliances or long couches please!), housewares, tools, electronic items, etc. during the year and then bring them to church the week prior to the sale. Lots of hands are needed that week to sort and price donations. A few weeks earlier hands are needed to help with advertising and signs. See the Events page for details on this year's sale.
